HÖRESUND

A podcast from the Centre for Oresund Regions Studies

A dark blue shape on a light green background. In the middle of the dark shape the word HÖRESUND.

HÖRESUND (a play on the word 'hear' and 'Öresund') started during the corona pandemic to investigate its impact on the Öresund region. Now HÖRESUND focuses on borders in general and the Oresund region in particular. Borders can act as both barriers and engines, and are constantly under negotiation. Listen to these negotiations in HÖRESUND!

So far, one episode has been made in English:

#5 Uncertainties about Covid-19 in Sweden, Denmark, and beyond

New episode from the podcast HÖRESUNDWhile international media was astounded by the “Swedish strategy”, people in Sweden and Denmark were negotiating their own experiences of living in the Covid-19 crisis. In this episode, Raquel García-Plaza, a physician and a PhD in Medical anthropology from Universidad de Salamanca, discuss her research with Rachel Irwin, a medical anthropologist and associate professor of Ethnology at Lund University, whose research concerns Nordic, European and global cooperation in vaccine diplomacy. Which nuances were lost in communicating about Covid-19? Which were the common experiences, and which differed wildly?

Participants:
